TVNZ to join broadcast of #Maranga – Rise up Aotearoa relief concert.
TVNZ has joined TikTok (Australia and New Zealand) in the growing momentum for the national relief concert, #Maranga – Rise Up Aotearoa, to raise funds for communities and whānau devastated by Cyclone Gabrielle in Aotearoa.
The concert will stream all day on Saturday and feature a stellar line-up of musicians, including Stan Walker, Bic Runga, Rob Ruha, Maisey Rika, and many others.
The concert will be broadcast on Māori+, Whakaata Māori and TikTok and will now also be available on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+. TVNZ Content Director, Cate Slater, said that they are proud to be a part of this national relief concert and to help raise awareness of this important fundraising effort.
Whakaata Māori content director Maramena Roderick also expressed her excitement about the collaboration with TVNZ, saying that they are committed to working together to reach many homes and help more families and communities in need.
TVNZ Breakfast hosts, Matty McLean and Jenny-May Clarkson, will be among the guest presenters at the concert, which is being held in partnership with the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency with the support of Te Māngai Pāho and NZ On Air.
By coming together to support this important cause, people across Aotearoa can help to provide much-needed relief to those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.
