Spacecraft Crashes into the Moon
Russia’s exciting space journey to the Moon didn’t go as planned! After almost 50 years, Russia tried to send an unmanned spaceship, called Luna-25, to the Moon. The spaceship was supposed to land and look for water and rocks on the Moon’s South Pole. It was like a big space treasure hunt!
But something went wrong. The spaceship lost contact with the people on Earth, and instead of landing smoothly, it crashed into the Moon’s surface.
This is not good news for Russia. The space programme in Russia, called Roscosmos, wanted Luna-25 to show off their space skills and beat other countries in a space race.
Russia’s Moon adventure was like a big race, but now they have to watch India. India is also sending a spaceship to the Moon, and it’s getting really close! If everything goes well, India will be the fourth country to land a spaceship on the Moon, after the United States, Russia, and China.
Mistakes happen to everyone, even in space! The people who planned Luna-25 will now figure out what went wrong, so they can do better next time. Who knows, maybe Russia’s next Moon mission will be super successful!
