Bangladesh secured a stunning nine-wicket victory over Australia in Darwin, marking their first ever test cricket win on Australian soil. The match finished within four days, with Mominul Haque hitting the winning runs at Marrara Oval despite hot conditions. The win was described as one of the biggest upsets in test cricket history.

Bangladesh had not played a test match in Australia for 23 years, since losing a series there in 2003. This time, however, the team dominated in every part of the game, with batting, bowling and fielding all playing a role in their success. All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz was a standout performer, taking important wickets and also scoring valuable runs earlier in the match.

Australia fought hard to stay in the contest. All-rounder Cameron Green scored a determined century, but his effort was not enough to prevent Australia being bowled out for 284 runs. Bangladesh bowler Hasan Mahmud also played a key role, finishing with nine wickets for the match.

Chasing a small target of 57 runs, Bangladesh batted confidently to seal the win. Miraz said the victory showed the strength and character of the team, adding that everything about their performance had gone perfectly.
