Liverpool is preparing to welcome Taylor Swift, one of the world’s biggest pop stars, as she brings her Eras tour to Anfield Stadium for three days starting on June 13. Ahead of her concerts, the University of Liverpool will host ‘Tay Day’ on June 12, a special event for fans, students, and lecturers to discuss the cultural impact of Taylor Swift.

‘Tay Day’ is part of several activities planned in the city leading up to the concerts. Academics from across Europe will gather to speak about Taylor Swift and present essays set to her music. Dr. Sam Murray and Dr. Amy Skjerseth, the event organizers, are excited to bring people together to analyze and celebrate Swift’s work.

This isn’t the first time Taylor Swift has been a topic of academic interest. In 2022, the University of Texas introduced a course about her. The Liverpool event continues this trend, offering a chance to delve into the influence of one of music’s biggest stars.

The excitement extends beyond the university. Liverpool will transform into ‘Taylor Town’ with 11 art installations throughout the city center, each inspired by a different era of Swift’s music. Highlights include a moss-covered grand piano for the Evermore era and giant hearts for the Lover era.

Fans, known as Swifties, are eagerly anticipating the events, which promise to make Taylor Swift’s visit a memorable part of Liverpool’s cultural scene.
