Daryl Tan Hong An, a 21-year-old Rubik’s cube expert from Singapore, has once again demonstrated his extraordinary skills by setting a new world record. This time, he solved a 3-by-3-by-3 Rubik’s cube in an astonishing 9.29 seconds, and here’s the catch—he did it all underwater!
Daryl, known as a “speedcuber,” submerged himself in a pool and swiftly solved the puzzle, adding another remarkable achievement to his already extensive list of Guinness World Records titles.
This isn’t Daryl’s first rodeo in the world of Rubik’s cube records. He holds titles for various feats, including the fastest time to solve a 4-by-4-by-4 rotating puzzle cube upside down, the fastest time to solve two rotating puzzle cubes simultaneously while suspended upside down, the fastest time to solve a rotating puzzle cube while juggling, the fastest time to solve a rotating puzzle cube on a hoverboard, and the fastest time to solve a rotating puzzle cube while controlling a ping pong ball.
While his underwater Rubik’s cube solving might seem mind-boggling, Daryl’s best time for regular speedcubing is an impressive 5.88 seconds. However, he still has some ground to cover to beat the world record time of 3.13 seconds, set by Max Park of California.
