A two-year-old boy from Scotland has made headlines by possibly becoming the youngest person ever to reach the base camp of Mount Everest.

The young adventurer, Carter Dallas, didn’t climb the mountain’s slopes on his own; instead, he experienced the journey from his father Ross’ back, with his mother Jade walking right beside them.

Together, this family reached the base camp, which is an impressive 5,364 meters above sea level, on October 25 last year.

The Dallas family, who originally come from Glasgow, are currently on a grand adventure, traveling across Asia for a whole year.

Their achievement at Everest’s base camp is especially noteworthy because the previous record was held by a four-year-old child from the Czech Republic. Imagine standing amidst towering peaks and breathtaking landscapes, all before your third birthday!
