A Santa School in Auckland, New Zealand, has trained a dozen Father Christmas impersonators ahead of their appearances in shopping malls during the festive season.

The training, conducted by Australian Santa Ambassador Tony Hooper, includes tips on how to engage with children, maintain a jolly demeanor, and handle tricky questions.

The prospective Santas are vetted, provided with Santa suits, lifelike beards, and bellies.

The demand for Santas in New Zealand has increased, and the training aims to ensure that Santa brings joy to children during the Christmas season.

The job pays well, with rates between $35 and $50 per hour.
