A 98-year-old woman from Jensen Beach, Florida, is preparing to compete in a major pool tournament in Las Vegas.

Maggie Kennedy, who was named the world’s oldest competitive pool player by Guinness World Records in 2021, will travel with her team to the BCA Nationals Pool League Tournament.

Kennedy first earned her world record title at the age of 94. Four years later, she is still practising, competing and surprising players who are often much younger than she is. She says she fell in love with the game and enjoys every moment at the table.

The tournament in Las Vegas will run from Wednesday to Sunday. Kennedy says she is looking forward to playing every day and enjoying the lively atmosphere of the city.

Before her trip, members of her local pool community gathered at Raxx Billiards in Stuart to show their support. They donated 2,000 dollars so she could fly to Las Vegas first-class. Kennedy said she felt deeply touched and amazed by their kindness.
