Briscoes is offering just that, with a unique job opportunity that sounds too good to be true. The retail company is looking for a luxury bed sheet tester, promising $10,000 for a night of sleep and the title of professional “sheet snob.”

The ideal candidate will have a passion for “hotel quality at home” and will review Briscoes’ new Hotel at Home bedroom range, now available in stores. The tester will receive a complete set of products worth over $3,000, including a mattress topper, duvet inner, duvet set, sheets, and pillows. This set is in addition to the $10,000 salary.

According to the Seek listing, Briscoes is searching for someone who can provide thorough and honest reviews about their sleep experience. Applicants need to explain why they are suitable for the role and highlight their relevant skills. The successful candidate will also be required to share their experience with Briscoes, social media followers, and the media. This includes creating content for Briscoes’ social channels and speaking to the media about the prize.

Briscoes general manager Isabel Campbell stated that the role will go to someone who is as “serious about sleep” as the brand. She emphasized that Briscoes is eager to hear from passionate Kiwis and is ready to back their commitment to quality sleep.

If this sounds like your dream job, don’t wait too long to apply. A Briscoes representative told Newshub that they received 12 applications within the first two hours of posting the job. Applications close on Monday, June 3, and candidates can apply via the Briscoes website. So, if you think you have what it takes to be a professional bed sheet tester, get your application in quickly!
