The Black Ferns won the Pacific Four Championship after beating the United States 79–14 in a powerful match. They needed to win by at least 25 points to reclaim the title — and they did much more than that.
The stars of the game were Portia Woodman-Wickliffe and Katelyn Vaha’akolo, who scored 11 tries between them. Woodman-Wickliffe’s seven tries made her the top try scorer in Black Ferns history, with 45 career tries.
The USA scored first, but New Zealand quickly answered back. After that, the Black Ferns kept building their lead, especially with strong running and smart passing from their backs. Vaha’akolo scored three tries in the first half alone, helping the Ferns go into halftime ahead 29–14.
In the second half, New Zealand didn’t slow down. Woodman-Wickliffe added four more tries, showing her speed and strength on the wing. Other players like Jorja Miller and Ruahei Demant also played important roles in the win.
By the end of the game, the USA couldn’t keep up. The final score showed how dominant the Black Ferns were.
