The All Blacks have defeated Australia 28–14 in a wet and wild match at Optus Stadium in Perth.

This win was their second win in a row in the Rugby Championship, giving head coach Scott Robertson much to celebrate.

Quinn Tupaea, returning to Australia for his first Test in three years, was the star of the show. He scored two quick tries in the first half, helping the All Blacks take a strong 17–9 lead by halftime. Tupaea’s return was especially meaningful, as he had suffered a serious knee injury in Australia back in 2022.

The match had its fiery moments. Australian player Tom Hooper was sent to the sin bin for a dangerous move called a “croc roll,” which looked very similar to the tackle that once injured Tupaea. That penalty cancelled out a rare first-half try by the Wallabies.

Leroy Carter, playing on the wing, scored his third try in as many Tests, and replacement prop George Bower sealed the win with a final-minute try, giving New Zealand a valuable bonus point.

Other standout performances included Leicester Fainga’anuku’s powerful return to the field, Peter Lakai’s solid game at No.8, and Jordie Barrett’s clever kicks. However, fly-half Damian McKenzie struggled with goal-kicking and missed several chances.

Australia lost one of their key players, Will Skelton, early in the game due to a head injury. Without him, they struggled in the set pieces and couldn’t match the All Blacks’ control and discipline.

This win marks the All Blacks’ 11th straight victory over Australia, keeping their hopes alive in the Rugby Championship.
