An 11-year-old boy from York, England, has set a new Guinness World Record by peeling four Mandarin oranges in one minute. This remarkable feat took place during the Dave Berry Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio.
Taylor Camp, 11, was selected from a field of applicants to be the first to attempt the new record. “He’s obsessed with Satsumas. We find peels everywhere,” said Camp’s mother.
The radio station invited young listeners to suggest new Guinness World Record categories to be attempted live on air. The chosen category was the most Mandarins peeled in one minute for under 16s. Camp managed nearly eight mandarins during his practice runs, but found the task more difficult during his official on-air attempts. He successfully met the goal set by Guinness World Records by peeling four oranges on his third attempt.
Camp’s record was confirmed by Official Adjudicator Mark McKinley, and he was given the title of “Master Peeler” by host Dave Berry. The boy’s impressive performance has now secured him a spot in the record books, highlighting his speed and dexterity.
