Zoi Sadowski-Synnott has claimed victory at the Snowboard Big Air World Cup in Aspen, marking her first win in the event since 2023.

The 23-year-old from Wānaka performed two strong runs in tricky conditions, securing the top spot ahead of Japan’s Kokomo Murase. This win highlights her impressive comeback after missing most of the 2024 season due to injury.

Sadowski-Synnott’s first run featured a switch backside double-corked 1260 with a weddle grab, earning her the highest single jump score of the day—89.00. She followed that with a backside double 1080 with a drunk driver grab, putting her two points ahead of Murase after the second run. When Murase couldn’t improve her score in the final round, Sadowski-Synnott was able to enjoy a victory lap, securing her place at the top of the podium. Japan’s Momo Suzuki finished in third place.

In the men’s competition, fellow Wānaka athlete Luca Harrington finished second in the Freeski Big Air event. The 20-year-old landed a right triple-corked 1980 safety grab to secure his podium spot. Harrington, who only earned his first World Cup podium last month, is now second overall in the 2025 Freeski Big Air World Cup standings.

With this event marking the end of the 2025 FIS Big Air World Cup Tour, attention now shifts to the FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup, which resumes on February 18 in Calgary, Canada.
