Record-Breaking card topple

On April 11, a team in China broke a Guinness World Record by toppling 51,725 playing cards like dominoes. The event took place inside a special wind-proof room created by Foshan Sunhohi Smart Home Technology Co. The room, called “Ultimate Space,” was designed to keep even the smallest breeze from ruining the setup.

Wang Lei’s Domino World team, experts in domino displays with seven world records already, carefully placed the cards upright in patterns including the company’s logo and mascot. The project wasn’t easy—they had two failed attempts on April 9 and 10, when the cards fell over before they were ready.

To prove how strong the setup was, the team even tested the clear room against fake typhoon winds. Inside, the cards stayed perfectly still. On the final day, the long line of cards toppled just as planned, setting a new world record for the most playing cards knocked over in a domino-style chain.
