A brand-new animated Cat in the Hat film is arriving in cinemas next February, Warner Bros Animation has announced.
The movie stars comedian Bill Hader as the voice of the mischievous Cat, making this the first full-length animated version of Dr. Seuss’ famous character.
This new film comes more than 20 years after the live-action Cat in the Hat movie from 2003, which starred Mike Myers. Now, younger audiences will get to meet the Cat in a fresh and exciting way.
The story follows the Cat on a tricky mission for a group called the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, or IIII for short. He must help two siblings, Sebastian and Gabby, get used to life in a brand-new town. But if he fails, he could lose his magical hat forever.
In the trailer, the Cat begins by opening a box that says “Do Not Open,” showing off his usual naughty style.
The film also features British actor Matt Berry as a talking pet fish and Xochitl Gomez, known from Marvel movies, as the voice of Gabby.
