Dean Stokes, a 36-year-old man from England, set a brand-new Guinness World Record by riding 55 different roller coasters in just one week.

His challenge began on August 2 at Brighton Palace Pier and ended seven days later at Thorpe Park in Surrey. Guinness had set the target at 30 rides, but Stokes went far beyond it.

Stokes has loved amusement parks since he was a teenager. He said he enjoys everything about them, from the exciting music and bright decorations to the thrilling rides. His record-breaking journey took him across Britain to visit many different theme parks.

Originally, Stokes hoped to ride more than 60 roller coasters, but rainy weather forced two parks to close, cutting his total short. Still, he managed to achieve the record as the first person to ever hold this title.

Out of all the rides, his favourite was the Icon roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. He described it as the most exciting of the trip.

Now that he holds the record, Stokes isn’t stopping. He plans to continue riding every roller coaster in both Britain and Ireland.
