A love for robots in disguise has propelled a California man to break the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of Transformers memorabilia. AJ Ard, who initially claimed the title in 2017 with 1,313 items, has now expanded his collection to a staggering 5,150 pieces.

Ard’s achievement comes at an opportune time, aligning with the release of the newest installment in the Transformers film franchise, titled Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

His passion for the Autobots and their Decepticon adversaries began when the original animated series premiered in 1984. It was during this time that Ard’s mother gifted him his very first Transformer, Cliffjumper, an Autobot that transforms into a Porsche 924 Turbo.

The extensive collection now occupies three dedicated rooms, each representing a different era of the beloved franchise. Ard, who is also an artist, has even ventured into designing his own Transformers characters. He aspires to see his creations become part of the official canon of Transformers’ personalities.

“I hope to add to the Transformers multiverse someday. I have 300 designs, with 30 visually ready for illustration, modeling, and eventually 3D printing,” shared Ard with Guinness World Records.

Ard’s passion for Transformers has not only earned him a prestigious world record but has also allowed him to immerse himself in a world of creativity and imagination. His dedication and love for the franchise continue to inspire fans and collectors worldwide.
