King Charles has shared encouraging news about his cancer treatment, saying it will be reduced in 2026. In a special video message, the 77-year-old King explained that early diagnosis and effective treatment have made a big difference to his health.
The message, recorded at Clarence House, was shown during a UK charity event called Stand Up To Cancer, which raises money for cancer research. It marks the most detailed update on the King’s condition since he announced he had cancer in February 2024.
“Early diagnosis quite simply saves lives,” King Charles said. He added that this progress was both a personal relief and proof of how much cancer care has improved in recent years.
Since his diagnosis, King Charles has been receiving regular treatment. While Buckingham Palace has not said what type of cancer he has, they confirmed it is not prostate cancer. In early 2025, the Palace said his treatment would continue, but now the King has shared that the schedule will lighten the following year.
Earlier in 2025, King Charles was briefly hospitalised due to side effects from a treatment, but he has since continued his royal duties.
His message aimed to offer hope to others, reminding people how important early checks can be. He said he hoped his story would bring strength to the many others facing similar battles.
