Singer Harry Styles is set to break a record by performing 12 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium this summer.
The concerts, part of his Together, Together tour, will take place from 12 June to 4 July. This achievement means Harry will have performed more times at Wembley in a single year than any other solo artist or band, beating Taylor Swift’s eight shows and Coldplay’s ten.
Around one million fans are expected to attend the concerts in London. However, not everyone is pleased. Some fans have expressed disappointment that he is only performing in one city in the UK, meaning they will have to travel far and possibly pay for hotels.
Harry’s tour will only visit seven cities worldwide, including Amsterdam, New York, Mexico City, São Paulo, Melbourne, and Sydney. In many of these places, he is performing several shows in just one city, for example, 30 shows in New York alone.
This is different from his last tour, which included over 50 cities. Fans say the new plan makes it harder and more expensive to attend, especially for those who live far from the tour cities.
One upset fan wrote online, “I just cannot pay that kind of money.” Fans had hoped for more locations across the UK, like in Taylor Swift’s and Coldplay’s recent tours, which included cities such as Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Hull.
