Two new hydro slides, the Violet Vortex and Waiau Winder, are set to open at Hanmer Springs pools in Canterbury, New Zealand.

These slides, costing $3.3 million, feature cutting-edge lighting and visual projection technology, offering riders a unique and immersive experience.

The visual projections can be changed to create different themes or scenarios, such as underwater scenes or mountain landscapes. The addition of these slides enhances the offerings at the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa, providing visitors with thrilling and visually engaging water rides.

The slides open to the public on October 11, 2023, replacing older slides that had been ridden millions of times.
