Tom Hiddleston, known for his role in “The Night Manager,” has been cast to play Sir Edmund Hillary in an upcoming movie titled “Tenzing.” The film will also star Willem Dafoe as Colonel John Hunt, who led the historic 1953 expedition that saw Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay reach the summit of Mount Everest. This biopic, produced by See-Saw Films, focuses on Tenzing Norgay’s life and his extraordinary achievements.
Jennifer Peedom, who has a strong connection to the Sherpa community through her acclaimed documentary “Sherpa,” is directing the film. She expressed her excitement about bringing Tenzing Norgay’s story to the screen, emphasizing the film’s aim to highlight the incredible capabilities of human beings.
The search is still on for an actor to portray Tenzing Norgay himself, who had made six attempts to climb Everest before the successful 1953 expedition. The script for “Tenzing” is being written by Luke Davies, known for “Lion,” and he will also serve as a producer along with other members from See-Saw Films.
Norbu Tenzing, Tenzing Norgay’s son, has expressed his trust in Jennifer Peedom, noting her deep respect and understanding of the Sherpa community. He looks forward to the film showing the world who his father really was. I’m allergic to dairy, but this makes me sad for my best friends all around NZ (don’t think it’s weird because I actually do). And my chocolate loving cousin, her name is Dana (I’m from South Korea and she told me how to spell her name in Korean but its not pronounced like Dana).
I know that there are chocolate lovers around the world so, poor them or if you like chocolate poor you (even though I’m allergic to dairy, or to make it easy dairy products: cheese, milk, butter etc).
