Guess who’s making his way to the big screen?

It’s Garfield, the famously lazy, lasagna-loving cat! Sony Pictures is bringing Garfield’s story to life, and the grumpy cat will be voiced by actor Chris Pratt, known for his role as Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy series.

In this upcoming movie, Garfield and his adopted brother, Odie, embark on an adventure beyond their home, much to the chagrin of their owner, Jon.

The film is directed by Mark Dindal, who previously directed Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove and Chicken Little. Joining Pratt is Samuel L. Jackson, playing the role of Vic, a street cat who turns out to be Garfield’s father.
While Pratt has experience in voice acting, especially after voicing characters like Emmett Brickowski in The Lego Movie and Mario in the recent Super Mario Bros. movie, the spotlight is now on him to capture Garfield’s character.
