Carlos Sainz won the Singapore Grand Prix for Ferrari, ending Max Verstappen’s record run of 10 consecutive wins and preventing Red Bull from going through the season unbeaten.

Liam Lawson, driving for AlphaTauri, picked up his first championship points by finishing ninth.

Sainz, starting on pole, managed his tires strategically, holding off his rivals and helping his former teammate Lando Norris, driving for McLaren, to stay in DRS (Drag Reduction System) range.

McLaren’s Lando Norris and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton completed the top three.

Verstappen started 11th and finished fifth.

The win was Ferrari’s first since July the previous year.
