Australia became the champions of the World Test Championship. They bowled out India for 234 runs and won the final by a huge margin of 209 runs at The Oval on Sunday.

India had a challenging task of chasing a world-record target of 444 runs. They started the last day with hope, with their star players Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane on the field. But things didn’t go well for them.

Virat Kohli got out after playing for only half an hour, and this started a collapse for the Indian team. In just thirty minutes before lunchtime, five more wickets fell, and India couldn’t recover from this setback.

Scott Boland, who replaced the injured Josh Hazlewood, played a fantastic game and took two important wickets, including that of Virat Kohli. Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon also contributed with two wickets each, helping Australia win their first-ever World Test Championship title. It’s now a good problem for Australia to decide who will play in the Ashes series.

The Australian captain, Pat Cummins, praised the team’s performance and said that everyone did their role really well. He also mentioned that winning this championship in the Test format was huge for them as it’s their favorite format.

India, although they beat Australia in the last test series, couldn’t perform well in the final match. They haven’t won a major trophy in the last ten years, and they will keep fighting to reach the next final, according to their captain, Rohit Sharma.
