In Hungary, a 34-year-old gamer named Szabolcs Csépe broke a world record by playing the dance video game Dance Dance Revolution for 144 hours in a row.

This is now the longest video game marathon ever, as well as the longest time anyone has played a rhythm game without stopping.

Csépe beat the previous record of 138 hours and 34 seconds, which was set in 2015 by an American player, Carrie Swidecki, who played Just Dance. Inspired by her, Csépe worked hard for years to build up his skills and stamina to break this tough record.

He said he had often dreamed of being number one and planned carefully for each attempt. His dedication paid off during his final days of dancing, when he finally reached his goal.

This isn’t Csépe’s first record. He also holds titles for marathons in different kinds of games, including playing a Naruto game for over 28 hours, a puzzle game for more than 32 hours, and a driving simulator for an incredible 90 hours in 2023.
