Twenty-six-year-old Kalpana Balan from India, has clinched a coveted spot in the Guinness World Records for boasting an extraordinary 38 teeth in her mouth – six more than the average adult.

The record, officially titled “Most Teeth in a Person’s Mouth (Female),” was given to Balan, highlighting her dental anomaly that has captured global attention.

Balan’s unique dental configuration includes four additional mandibular teeth on her lower jaw and two extra maxillary teeth on her upper jaw.

Termed “supernumerary teeth,” these extras began sprouting during her teenage years, prompting initial plans for removal. However, dentists advised her to hold off until the entire set emerged.

Balan opted against extraction since the extra teeth don’t cause her any discomfort. She has also revealed that her dental journey might not be over, with two more teeth awaiting their debut, potentially adding to her record-breaking count.
