In a special gathering in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed leaders from various Western countries.

This meeting was to remember the second year since a big conflict started with Russia. Among the guests were Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission. They all met at an airfield just outside Kyiv, a place that had seen early conflict.

President Zelensky shared a video from the airfield, emphasizing the unity and support Ukraine has received from these friends and partners over the past two years. This show of support comes at a crucial time as Ukraine’s military needs more supplies and help to continue their defense.

The leaders’ visit also follows a recent attack in Odesa, a city in the south of Ukraine, where a drone strike damaged a building and hurt several people. This highlights the ongoing challenges Ukraine faces.

To strengthen their commitment, the Group of Seven (G7), which is a group of leading world economies currently led by Italy, plans to have a virtual meeting to discuss more support for Ukraine.

In the midst of these diplomatic efforts, soldiers on the front lines in eastern Ukraine are urgently asking for more ammunition to protect their positions and support their fellow soldiers.

Despite the challenges, Ukraine’s military leaders and citizens remain hopeful, grateful for the international support and determined to overcome the difficulties they face.
