Zoom weddings are now legal in New York.

Last week, the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo issued an order allowing couples to marry using video technology.

Zoom is an online video service that has become popular due to Covid-19.

The new online marriages must follow certain rules. The ceremony must be live and include witnesses.

At this stage it is not known that New Zealand will follow the lead set by New York.

  1. That’s awesome that people can still get married in new york! It’s great that people can have their wedding with their friends and family present and not have to put off such a special day until after lockdown.
