World’s longest cat dies

The world’s longest recorded domestic cat, has died at the age of eight.

The cat, named Stewie, was 123cm long from the tip of its nose to the end of its tail.

The cats owner, Robin Hendrickson, said the record-holding cat died on Monday evening after an illness.

He was awarded the record by the Guinness Book of Records in 2010. As well as being the longest cat Stewie also held the record for world’s longest cat tail.

“Stewie was always very social and loved meeting new people,” Ms Hendrickson said. “He has touched many lives, and for that I am grateful.”
