New Zealander, Anna Cochrane, set a new world record on Sunday for the highest static trapeze act while suspended from a balloon!
She dislocated a rib while hanging from a hot air balloon over the skies of Ashburton, but that did not stop her from breaking a world record.
Her performance lasted more than five minutes at an altitude of between 3100 and 3500 metres.
She smashed the previous record, which was just over 660m.
A specialist witness and independent witness were on board the balloon, so the effort could be accepted as a Guiness World Record.

  1. Hi we are a Year 6 school from Auckland. We wanted to ask “Are you CRAZY?” “How did you overcome your fear of heights?” “Did you eat breakfast before you did it?” If someone wanted to go to the toilet, would they pee in the air and then pretend it was raining?” From Jamie & class members!

  2. Wow!!!!
    That is incredible!
It was very brave of Anna Cochrane to break the worlds highest trapeze act with
a dislocated rib. I don’t think I could do that.
