An Israeli farmer has entered the Guinness World Record books after harvesting a massive strawberry that weighed 288 grams!

Ariel Chahi, whose family owns the Strawberries in the Field business in Kadima-Zoran, Israel, beat the previous record of 232grams.

The strawberry is of the Ilan variety.

The strawberry’s size is down to the unusually cold temperatures in January and February in Israel.

The strawberry developed slowly for more than 45 days from flowering, which caused its large size at the full ripening stage.
