Karan was 15.4 pounds when he was born – double the average weight of a typical newborn baby boy. He also measured 4 inches longer than the average baby.

Even before Karan could walk or talk, he held the record from tallest and heaviest baby born in the Guinness Book of Records – however this record has now been broken.
Although Karan may feel out of place amongst children his own age, he fits right in with his family! Karan’s mother is one of the tallest women in South Asia at 7 feet, 3 inches tall, while his father, Sanjay, is 6 foot, 7 inches.
Karan used to be bullied at school and kids often say he his cheating when they play basketball or cricket due to his height advantage. His mother found it difficult to find nappies for Karan as a baby and still has difficulty finding clothes that will fit him – he mostly wears adult-sized clothing.
Karan’s mother is worried that he may have inherited her health condition that causes her to produce extra growth hormone – meaning she gains around 1.5 inches of height every few years.
However, doctors are optimistic Karan will grow up healthy and well.
