After being lost in the wild Australian outback for 17 days Shannon Brown is recovering in hospital.

While visiting a watering hole, she and her boyfriend were separated resulting in her becoming lost.

To survive, Shannon drank water from a stream and ate small raw fish and insects.

Miraculously, she is only being treated for cuts and sunburn.

In the search to find her, police used quad bikes and dropped coloured markers which she followed out of the bush to safety.
