The White Ferns have recorded their first win of the 2022 Cricket World Cup

New Zealand recorded a nine-wicket victory in their rain-affected match in Dunedin.

Chasing 141 to win from 27 overs, the home side easily achieved their target with exactly seven overs to spare.

The win came three days after a dramatic three-run loss to the West Indies.

Opening batter Suzie Bates played the key role on her home ground, hitting 79 not out from just 68 balls.

Bates shared in an unbeaten second-wicket partnership of 108 with Amelia Kerr, who made 47 from 37.

With the ball, Amy Satterthwaite was the standout, taking 3-25 from her five overs, with Frankie Mackay putting the brakes and finishing with 1-24 from six overs.
