The Warehouse chain of stores has announced that they are scrapping plastic bags from its 254 stores by the end of the year.
Instead, the company will sell compostable plastic bags for 15 cents each at their Warehouse, Warehouse Stationary and Torpedo 7 stores. The bags will be free at Noel Leeming.
The bags decompose within 12 weeks and are non-toxic.
The Warehouse Group chief executive Nick Grayston said the company was committed to the environment.
Last year, they sold 21 million plastic bags.

  1. I love the warehouse because you can bey clothing and skateboards and bikes and scooters.

  2. Thank you so much to The Warehouse. This will make a huge difference to our environment. We are studying ocean pollution and have been shocked at how bad the plastic is in the ocean.
