The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) space mission has sent back its first images.

The Hope mission’s first image was of Mars.

The UAE put a probe called Hope in orbit around the red planet with the aim for it to send back data about the Martian atmosphere. They also want to study studying daily and seasonal changes.

The spacecraft entered Mars’ orbit on Tuesday.

This makes the UAE the first Arab nation in history to have scientific presence on Mars.

The UAE’s offical mission Twitter account said that “We hope this mission will lead to new discoveries about Mars which will benefit humanity.”

Below is the image sent back to earth.
