Two tourists were surprised to find themselves inside an Indian prison after the pilot of their hot air balloon flight lost control of the balloon’s flight path due to strong winds.

Authorities at the prison were concerned that the hot air balloon was a rescue mission attempt for inmates inside the jail.

But by the time the balloon landed in the jail the inmates were already in their cells.

The two tourists were questioned for nearly two hours after the incident until authorities were convinced the landing was an accident and not a rescue mission.

The two tourists, who are from the West Indies, had boarded the hot air balloon at the annual animal fair in Pushkar, a temple town in Rajasthan.

The two sisters in their early twenties told reporters they wanted a bird’s eye view of the fair, but then found themselves hovering over the city of Ajmer, and had no idea where they had landed.

  1. That is very weird I have been wondering why the tourist leader could not just put the air balloon back to where it was. Was the leader Questioned?
