tortoise beat a rabbit in a skiing competition held for pets and their owners in China.

During the competition, cats and dogs raced to the finish line against many different animals, including a rooster and a yellow duck. The owners of these skiing pets were allowed to guide their pets on a lead or place their animals on skis or sledges.

In an unexpected victory, a tortoise beat a rabbit, leaving him in third place overall in the competition. The tortoise overtook the rabbit in the race as the rabbit enjoyed jumping around in the snow and did not follow the commands of its owner.

Skiing has become more popular in China in recent years and it isn’t the only country known to encourage pet participation in popular sports. California in the United States hosts an annual dog-surfing competition. This isn’t the first time China has made headlines for impressive animal news, in 2012 a Chinese farmer made headlines for training pigs how to dive.
