New Zealand’s largest ice cream company, Tip Top, has announced it is changing the name of their Eskimo Pie icecreams.
Yesterday, Tip Top made the announced the news at a press conference.
The news of the renaming of their Eskimo lollies and Eskimo Pie comes as acknowledgement around the use of racial stereotyping.
Other food companies around the world are also making changes.
The company first made its Eskimo Pie, a chocolate-covered vanilla ice cream bar inspired by the blocks of an igloo, in the 1940s.
Lollie company Pascall has also announced it will be changing the name of its Eskimo lollies.
