A small team of radio enthusiasts has launched a tiny satellite into space.

The satellite is called the ‘Funcube satellite’ and it  sends and receives messages as it orbits the earth.

Schools around the world will soon be able to download data from it directly into the classroom.

The project aims to inspire schoolchildren to become the scientists and engineers in the future.
