The dance app TikTok has reached 2 billion downloads globally. The milestone was announced this weekend by an internet monitoring agency.

In a very short time, TikTok has spread like wildfire and gained a loyal following from dance and music enthusiasts.

TikTok is a social media platform that allows users to produce and share very short creative videos of 15 to 60 seconds.

TikTok started in China in 2016. It was called Douyin, which is still the Chinese name of the app.

The app was started by a company called Bytedance. This was founded in 2012 in China and is now the world’s most valuable startup with a valuation of over $75 billion.

Compared to other social platforms, TikTok has the youngest user base. Almost 70 percent of TikTok users are between 16 to 24 years old, which means that only 30 percent are 25+ years old.

Tiktok has an age rating of 13 years.
