Tall Ships Festival

The first ever Tall Ships Festival was held in Auckland over the weekend. The flotilla of international vessels arrived on Friday after the  first ever trans-Tasman race from Sydney.
Eight Tall Ships and over 600 sailors are participating in the festival, including two kiwi vessels Spirit of Adventure and R Tucker Thompson.
A tall ship is a large, traditionally- rigged sailing vessel.
