A rare Superman comic book is now worth well over a £2 million NZD as bidders on a online auction battle to claim the collectors item.
Currently bidders on eBay are bidding for a copy of Action Comics #1 from 1938.
The comic is considered one of the most important comics because it is the first comic to have Superman as a character.
The item was a museum piece and is said to have “perfect white pristine pages”. This makes it even more valuable to collectors.
It is believed that there are only 50 to 100 copies of the issues left in the world. An auction in 2011 saw Nicolas Cage’s copy of the comic sold for $2.1 million.
The auction started on August 14 and there have been 21 bids so far.
