The Crusaders have confirmed the Super Rugby Aotearoa trophy has been damaged.

The Crusaders won the competition last weekend after the team secured the competition by beating the Highlanders.

However, during the week, Crusaders boss Colin Mansbridge confirmed the specially designed trophy was damaged.

The trophy is named Tū Kōtahi Aotearoa, or Stand As One New Zealand. It was created by Ōtaki carver Bill Doyle.

The Crusaders said they would be getting trophy repaired as soon as they could.
