Street Pong

A new and fun concept has begun in Germany to keep pedestrians entertained at traffic lights. The new game allows people waiting to cross the road to play ping pong with other pedestrians on the other side of the street.

A small monitor is attached to the lamp post and allows players to play ping pong with their finger. For now the concept is only a trial, and the creators are making improvements which they hope to add next year.

Cities in France and Norway have expressed their interest in having Street Pong installed in their own streets. Whilst keeping pedestrians entertained and acting as fun attractions for tourists, Street Pong is also created to keep people from becoming impatient and crossing the street before the lights change.

Would you like to see Street Pong in New Zealand streets?

  1. That is so cool I wouldn’t mind it but just out of curiosity will they listen to the lights when they say go or will they stay and become disobedient? ( mainly talking about children)
