South Africa are Rugby World Cup champions for 2019.

South Africa dominated England 32-12 in the final in Yokohama.

Tries by wingers Makazole Mapimpi and Cheslin Kolbe and the goalkicking of Handre Pollard earned South Africa their win.

England came into the match with huge expectations after the New Zealand win. However, they were disappointing.

Following their excellent result against the All Blacks, they dropped a number of balls and could create any go forward.

The Springboks became the first team to lose a pool match at a World Cup and go on to win it, having lost to the All Blacks in their tournament opener.

South Africa have now added the 2019 trophy to past wins in 1995 and 2007, to match the All Blacks’ record of three titles.
