South Africa have snatched a last-minute 16-16 draw against the All Blacks in Wellington.
South African half-back Herschel Jantjies scored with one minute left on the clock, with Andrea Pollard slotting the conversion for the tie.
The draw sees New Zealand hold on to the Mandela Trophy which is played between the two countries.
The All Blacks led at halftime through a Jack Goodhue try, although South Africa was the better side for most of the 40minutes.
The All Blacks played better in the second half and looked in control of the match until the try in the final minute.
All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick suffered a dislocated shoulder in the game, however, he is expected to be fit in time for the World Cup.
With this year’s competition has been shortened to three rounds due to the World Cup in September.
South Africa can win the Rugby Championship for the first time if they beat Argentina in Salta on Saturday.
