South Africa has voted to pull out of Super Rugby.

This week the South African Rugby Union decided to enter its 4 teams into the European PRO14 competition.

The move will mean the Bulls, Lions, Sharks and Stormers will all now play in the PRO14. This means that effectively the Super Rugby competition is finished.

Australia, New Zealand and Argentina will not need to plan a new competition.

The lucrative European television market, and more favourable time zones and travel logistics are the reason for the move.
