Could sniffing farts be good for you?

Scientists have discovered that smelling farts might be good for your health.

A recent study from the University of Exeter found that Hydrogen sulphide, the gas that gives farts their rotten smell, can help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, cancer, and help stave off dementia.

The experts found that when we are sick our cells create their own hydrogen sulphide which helps keep the mitochondria – our cell’s power generators – in working order.

Without the gas the cells die and lose their ability to fight off disease.

So the next time your brother or sister lets ‘fluffy off the chain’ instead of running away, pluck up the courage and smell as much of it as you can.

You will be helping your body fight disease.
