Shortage of timber for builders

A shortage of timber for building projects has hit New Zealand.

A lack of supply has forced Carter Holt Harvey – one of New Zealand’s biggest timber manufacturers – to stop selling some of its timber.

This will mean that there is less timber available at Bunnings, ITM and Mitre 10.

Many experts believe that the lack of supply may cause an increase in costs and delays to construction.

Experts believe that the supply issues have been caused by high demand and the closure of timber mills in the past few years.
